Online Couples Therapy and Relationship Counseling in Wisconsin
When you and the person you love stop understanding each other, it can feel like you are living in two different places. I'm Jordan Johnson, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin. I see couples and individuals in Wisconsin by secure video.
Who I see
I work with people at different points in a relationship.
Couples who are tired of the same conflict and want to feel like a team again.
Individuals who want to understand why they pursue or pull away, and what to do differently.
Partners who love each other and still feel alone in the room.
Many people come because they want to take the relationship seriously.
Online sessions across Wisconsin
You can meet with me from anywhere in Wisconsin, from the Milwaukee area and Madison to Green Bay and the Fox Valley, La Crosse, Eau Claire, and the Northwoods. At the time of the session, you need to be located in a state where I am licensed or have telehealth privileges. Those states are Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Florida, and you can join from any location within one of them.
Partners who live in different parts of the state, or who work in different towns, can each join from their own location. That can make scheduling easier for couples with long commutes or shift work. As long as both of you are in Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina, or Florida at the time of the session, I'm able to meet with you together as a couple.
I'm online only. I don't have a Wisconsin office, and sessions are on video from wherever you feel comfortable talking.
My approach
I teach the Secure Attachment Skills described by Diane Poole Heller in The Power of Attachment. These are small, specific habits, like really listening, staying present when a conversation gets hard, and mending things afterward.
You will not be handed a script. We look at the pattern between you, practice a new move together in session, and you try it at home.
Many people want their faith included, and many do not. I follow your lead. It is welcome, and it is never required.

Frequently asked questions
Can I do therapy with you if I live in Wisconsin but travel for work?
It depends on where you are at the time of the session. You need to be in a state where I am licensed or have telehealth privileges. Those states are Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Florida. You can join from any location within one of them.
Can my partner and I join from different places?
Yes. Each of you can use your own device. As long as both of you are in Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina, or Florida at the time of the session, I'm able to meet with you together as a couple.
Is faith part of therapy?
Only if you want it to be. If it matters to you, we can talk about it as part of how you see your relationship.
Do I have to bring my partner?
No. Many people start on their own, and some invite a partner later.
