Online Relationship Therapy for Couples and Individuals in Minnesota
Relationship trouble does not wait for a clear road or an open evening. I'm Jordan Johnson, MA, LPCC, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota. My degree is an MA in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. I offer relationship therapy by secure video for couples and for individuals who live in Minnesota.
Who this is for
You might be here because you and your partner keep landing in the same argument. Maybe one of you shuts down and the other gets louder. Maybe things look fine on the outside, and you feel far apart at home.
You might also be here on your own. Plenty of people start therapy alone to understand their side of the pattern, and that can change how the whole relationship feels.
Therapy anywhere in Minnesota
My sessions are online only, so where you live in Minnesota does not matter. That covers the Twin Cities and suburbs, Rochester, Duluth, St. Cloud, Mankato, Moorhead, and the smaller towns across greater Minnesota.
If you would rather skip a long drive in winter weather, you can meet from home. You need to be located in a state where I am licensed or have telehealth privileges at the time of service. You can join from any location within one of these five states: Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Florida. Partners can each join from their own location. As long as both of you are in Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina, or Florida at the time of the session, I'm able to meet with you together as a couple.
I am not based in Minnesota and I have no office there. Sessions happen on video.
The skills we practice
I build my work on the Secure Attachment Skills from Diane Poole Heller's book The Power of Attachment. In plain terms, you learn to listen so your partner feels heard, stay steady when things heat up, and repair after a rough moment.
Each session gives you one small thing to try before we meet again. You are not asked to overhaul your relationship in a week.
Faith can be part of the work if you want it to be. It is your choice, and it is fine to leave it out.

Questions people ask
Do you see people anywhere in Minnesota?
Yes. You can join from any location in Minnesota, and online sessions work the same in Minneapolis as they do in a small town up north. At the time of the session, you need to be in a state where I am licensed or have telehealth privileges. Those states are Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Florida.
I want to come alone. Is that okay?
Yes. Individual sessions focus on your part of the pattern, and your partner does not need to attend.
What happens in a first session?
We talk about what brought you in, what you have tried so far, and what you want to be different. You leave with a first small thing to practice.
What do I need for an online session?
A private space, a device with a camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection. Headphones help.
